Hello, I am Ruta Kavaliauskiene, born in Kaisiadorys. I grew up and finished my high school in Rokiskis. I began to learn artistic woodwork secrets in Kaunas Stepas Zukas school of applied arts. Since 1975 I live in Plunge. This is where I found my own path. This is where my individual stile, artistic thinking, was born. This is where my wooden birds, gods, angels, gnomes, and ladies begin their journey...

I began as an artist in a big company called "Minija". In 1985 I became a member of Folk Artists.

Today I am an independent artist. Carved sculptures travel to various expositions and private collections. My wooden "children" live not only in Lithuania, but also in Germany, Switzerland, Italy, France, Canada, USA and other corners of the earth.
